Although his early life was turbulent, he has always been candid about his mental health issues. However, he managed to resolve these difficulties with the support of family and friends. He also managed to shed the pounds and maintain proper health with proper exercise and diet.

Throughout this period Jelly Roll has also developed into an inspirational figure for many. Jelly has also shared his story with others and motivated them to take charge of their health. He also put a project team in place to assist him achieve his objectives.

Even when he was still obese, Jelly Roll gave his life a fresh start by enhancing his way of living and caring for his emotional problems. This was needed because it made him realize that he is not the only one and there are people who can help him.

The adjustments that he made may have seemed small, but their cumulative effect was significant. He started by making changes in what he eats and controlling the amount. He included more vegetables and lean protein into his diet while reducing junk food intake. Gradually, he began to walk and do other workout exercises. A significant achievement in his transformation process was training for the 2 Bears 5K race together with podcast hosts Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura.

Although Jelly Roll attributed his success to dietary changes as the most important factor, he understood that other healthy lifestyle habits would enhance his efforts. He engaged in regular physical activity, which involved both aerobic exercise and strength training on most days. He also began eating smaller meals more frequently at a duration of four to six hours instead of the three large meals to prevent hunger and subsequent bingeing. He did not sit there doing nothing though, he in fact employed methods like cold plunges in order to reduce his tiredness and help regain energy.

He also gave importance to the state of mental affairs. He gained control over emotional eating and stress by practicing mindfulness and developed a robust support system that fuelled his motivation. In fact, he even got some counseling in order to handle his depression and anxiety. Jelly Roll says that the practice of taking care of his nuts helped him do all that he did in order to lose weight.

To further illustrate some letic features, he was also cutting down on sweet soda and snacks. His favorite drinks were water, tea, and natural juices. Sweet beverages would make him want to eat and cause a spike in his blood sugar. Instead, he chose to eat lean meat and fish and whole grain instead of junk food. He also consumed less amount of food but increased the frequency of the meals in order to suppress appetite and enhance metabolism.
