About Dr. Ahmad Tavassoli Ashrafi
Dr. Ahmad Tavassoli Ashrafi is a Specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Eden Aesthetics Clinic in Business Bay, Dubai. Techniques Used
Eden Aesthetics explains four liposuction methods. Dr. Ahmad’s preferred method is power-assisted liposuction:
- Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL): a mechanised cannula with a rapidly vibrating tip loosens the fat. Dr. Ahmad prefers it for its accuracy and effectiveness
- Tumescent liposuction: the area is filled with saline, a local anaesthetic (lidocaine) and epinephrine before the fat is removed
- Ultrasound-assisted liposuction (VASER): sound waves break up the fat before suction
- Laser-assisted liposuction (SmartLipo): a small laser melts the fat before it is removed
- After surgery, patients wear a compression garment and avoid strenuous exercise for about three weeks
